Nordneskroa - local food at its best!
When driving the E6 through Saltdal, we recommend a stop at Nordneskroa. Here you will be served traditional Norwegian food!
Welcome to Nordnes!
Nordneskroa is a natural meeting point along the E6 for locals and travelers alike. The locals often visits to Nordnes to dig into their large weekend buffet or grab a «Møsbrømlefse» , whilst the tourists comes to taste the authentic local cuisine.
When Lisa & Tommy established Nordneskroa in 1999, they started by collecting old and beloved home cooking recipes from the local farms in Saltdal and Salten. They then selected the best recipes and made them their own.
Lisa says «In 2011 we had an idea to create an event which focuses on food traditions from the past and dishes that are in dager of being forgotten!» Thus, the Traditional Food Weekend became an annual event every year in September / October.
Now they are well known also outside Saltdal for their devotion to traditional food.
At Nordnes you can relax and have your meal in their cozy dining room, which seats 80 people. The room is built around a large welcoming fireplace. The menu mainly consists of homemade traditional Norwegian foods.
Møsbrømlefse
Try the local signature dish Møsbrømlefse. It is served warm with møsbrøm, butter and sour cream. This iconic dish is so popular that it has its own festival! The dish is traditionally eaten with the fingers, but knife and fork is allowed!
