Blood Road Museum
The Blood Road Museum is located together with Saltdal Folk Museum. A museum that tells the story of the prisoners who built the road through Saltdal during the Second World War
An important story
In a German barrack from Dunderlandsdalen, the story of the prisoners of the 2. world war, their life and work, during the German regime 1942-45 is told.
Tens of thousands of Eastern European prisoners were sent up north to build roads, railways and infrastructure. They suffered inhumane conditions. Many never returned to their loved ones.
An important journey through a time that must never be forgotten.
